When screw fasteners are tightened, they generate the necessary clamping force, which is the force that holds the fastener in place. However, as the fastened components are subjected to factors such as vibration, operation, shock, and temperature, the male and female threads can experience material creep or dynamic strain, reducing friction and causing the fastener to loosen. This can gradually reduce or even eliminate the clamping force, leading to product failure or even structural disintegration.

Nestol offers pre-coated anti-loosening treatments, which adhere to the male or female threads with a gel that fills the gaps between the threads, reducing material creep or dynamic strain, and effectively preventing fastener loosening.

Nestol also offers pre-coated chemical adhesives from companies such as Precote, 3M, and Loctite. These adhesives consist of microscopic capsules encapsulated in a gel that are applied to the threads (the surface is dry and touchable after application). When the male and female threads are squeezed together, the capsules rupture, causing the adhesive to mix and solidify, effectively preventing the fastener from loosening.
